A big announcement..

A few days ago we found out that we were granted our 2 year extension here at Yaquina Bay so Will can finish up becoming a Surfman. We weren't 100% sure before if it was what we wanted to do, but in the past 6 months many changes have happened here and we decided that staying and finishing would be better for us as a family and better for Will's career path.
So we will be living here in Newport until Summer 2015....

Happy and sad ..

I miss home. I miss the smell of my mom's house, I miss seeing people I've known for years in the store...or running into people who knew me when i was a toddler. It's hard being in a new place most of the time - even if you are open-minded. Because lets face it, at some point even the most adventurous person longs to feel familiarity. But - I know that our friends and family back home will always be there, and will always miss us. And in those 2 years we will try to visit home at least once...

In the past year we have met such awesome people and became closer with the ones we already knew...and I can't speak for anyone else, but I know without a doubt that that is probably the only reason I personally - will be ok. The first few years here were rough, and i only talked about it to a few people... but now that i am on the other side of it i can say that all the waiting with absolutely no real friends in my life {here} was worth the spectacular people that eventually came into it.
I now have people who haven't known me my whole life, or known me without kids, or where I grew up .... but still think {know, lol) I am awesome. And think my family is awesome, and think my kids are awesome, and think me and Will are great together.... just like our true friends and family back home think. These Oregon folks have joined the list along with some of my oldest and dearest friends. They will sit @ my house all night long taking care of things so I can go to the E.R. - or sit with me in the E.R. all night so I'm not alone - or help me to get my name out there by selling my bows - or basically help me do anything and everything to help, even if it's just my grocery shopping or finishing my sentences...

Things are great because we have awesome people like that in our lives...and I know now that the opinion of those who wouldn't do those kinda things for us - don't matter.

I personally, am content. and it feels nice. :)

So - that's our big news, turned blog rant from me lol..
